- Certification: Fire doors should be third-party certified by an independent testing body such as UL.
- Gaps: The gaps around the top and sides of the door should be consistently less than 4mm when the door is closed.
- Seals: Seals help close the door gaps in case of fire.
- Hinges: All hinges should be firmly fixed.
- Closures: Fire doors should always be fully closed and not wedged open.
